Goudi Village - Cyprus

Goudi, Cyprus Goudi is 31kms from Paphos and about 5 kms from Polis and situated on the bank of the Chrysochou river (also known as river Tzerepis). With a population of approximately 150, it is a very quiet village. In fact, blink and you might miss it! However, 40 years ago it was a different story when the village was flourishing with life and tradition.

The river Tzerepis, divides the village and it constitutes the frontier between the modern and the traditional community. A stone-made bridge is the point where the two sides of the village meet. The traditional side is full of stone-made houses, and narrow paths, contrarily to the modern side where the houses are built with modern building materials, wide roads and pavements. Walking through the traditional neighborhood to the modern one, you will feel like traveling in time, traveling from antiquity to modern times.

You will find two supermarkets on the Polis road (towards Skoulli) that are open from early in the morning until quite late in the evening, depending on the season. The main town of Polis is just along the coast with a variety of restaurants, shops and a colourful daily market in the town square or the fishing village of Latchi is just down the road, where you can jump aboard a boat trip or relax at one of the fish tavernas. Whatever you get carried away doing, Goudi- adeliciously unspoilt hideaway - can't fail to impress.
