Polis Car Rentals
Renting a car is extremely popular in Cyprus since public transportation is not always available to or from villages or other places of interest.
Local car rental companies as well as international car rental companies are located in Polis and Latchi and most of them also have a desk at the airports or have a delivery service to and from the airports.
Driving in Cyprus Rules & Regulations:
- Visitors in Cyprus can drive using a valid International driving licence, or their National driving licence, provided it is valid for the class of vehicle they wish to drive
- Traffic moves on the LEFT side of the road
- International traffic signs are in use. Writing is both in Greek and in English. Distances are indicated in kilometres.
- Maximum speed limits are: 100 km on the motorway, 80 km on other roads and 50 km in built up areas UNLESS INDICATED OTHERWISE
- The use of front seat belts is compulsory
- Parking and waiting is prohibited along a double yellow line
- Drink and drive is prohibited INCLUDING PEDAL BIKES
- Hands free driving is mandatory
